@SIMPHIWE DANA...Simphiwe Dana is a South African singer-songwriter, born on January 23, 1980, in Butterworth, Eastern Cape, South Africa. She is known for her unique blend of jazz, Afro-soul, and traditional Xhosa music, which she uses as a platform for social activism and political commentary. Dana grew up in Lusikisiki, Transkei, where she was exposed to choral and gospel music through her religious upbringing. She later attended Vela Private School in Mthatha, matriculating in 1997, and pursued a National Diploma in Information Technology at Wits Technikon, Johannesburg.
